Course Description:
An amazing race in the most amazing place. Experience the grandeur of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, considered by many to be the most beautiful place in America. Explore Lake Michigan, dunes, historic barns, deep forests and beautiful inland lakes on foot, bike and canoe/kayak. Five or ten hours. The five hour race will also feature fun physical and mental Amazing Race-like challenges. The ten-hour race will be a traditional adventure race with deeper wilderness exploration. This is not a relay – you and your teammate(s) will experience the entire race together, working to find as many checkpoints as you can in the time period.
Aid Stations:
Water and Gatorade may be available at various points but fill your bladders/bottles when you have the opportunity.
Awards:
Prizes wil be awarded based on a minimum number of teams in each division.

Our host for the race is The Leelanau School, an amazing college-prep boarding school located on the shores of Lake Michigan and the Crystal River next to Sleeping Bear Dunes and Glen Arbor.

Our charity partner for the race is Preserve Historic Sleeping Bear whose mission is to preserve and interpret the rich heritage of historic structures and cultural landscapes of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
