Course Description:
The Winter Beast is a Double or Quit adventure trail race of approximately 5 or 10 miles set on an equine x country course. The course includes steep hills, water, mud, 40 (ish) obstacles usually tackled by animals of a 4 legged variety, water, hills, a couple of surprises, oh and did we mention water. The Winter Beast is a ‘Double or Quit’ event. You decide on the day if you want to complete 1 lap of the course and then finish or Quit or go around again to complete 2 laps and then finish or Double. You literally decide as you approach the finish straight where the course splits into the Quit or Double lanes.
Aid Stations:
First Aid will be available at the Start/Finish area and there will be mobile First Aiders on the course.
Prizes:
Prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female runners to complete 1 lap or Quit and Prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female runners to complete 2 laps or Double, plus lots of Spot Prizes.
Spectators:
Unfortunately due to the nature of the course, Emergency vehicle access and the fact that the surrounding land is privately owned (we only hire the actual course) we are unable to allow spectators onto The Winter Beast course.
Parking:
There'll be free on site parking and will be supervised by The Beast marshals.
Other:
Minimum age is 18 years on event day.
You don't need to be able to swim and you can choose to go around the water obstacles if you like.
