In the fall of 2013 the South Jersey OCR idea was put out on the table to help the growth of the local OCR community and become a obstacle course training program. The program was developed to give all athletic levels (novices to athletes) the practical experience, training and knowledge into effectively completing an obstacle course race without fear (or to reduce the feeling of fear).
What is an obstacle race?
An obstacle race is a series of challenging physical stations, meant for fun for the average, the athletic, an individual or as a team. These races aim to test speed and endurance and include running (or walking), climbing, jumping, crawling, swimming, balancing, and perhaps even special challenges of ice water, electrical wires and yes, zombies. Sometimes a course involves mental skill as well!
