Course Description:
Hero Rush gives you the chance to put your mettle to the test. You’ll
run an intense 5k+ race with multiple (17 or more) fire-related obstacles. Climb
ladders and slide down poles, crawl through windows and break down
doors, scramble through HAZMAT slime and locate trapped victims — but be
careful — you might get the fire hoses turned on you! Don’t just play
in the mud — be a Hero!
Here's a list of obstacles you might be facing: Dispatch Descent, Bystander Blast, Mazed and Confused, Forcible Fury, Dummy Draggin', Sretcher Evac, Hoarder's Hell, Hose Advancin', Foam Adventure, Towerin' Inferno - Raining Stairs, Stayin' Alive: CPR Stop, HazMat Zone, Fire Truck Tackle, Basement Entrapped, Smoke Jumper, Entaglment, and Inferno Ending!
New for 2014: New features to the midway, and new obstacles!
Aid Stations:
There will be at least two water stations along each 5k course, and one at the end. Remember to hydrate yourself the night and morning before you race
Awards:
After each Hero Rush event, we will award one team with the Team Axe Award. The award goes to the team with the fastest average time of the top 4 fastest team members. The winning team will receive the Team Axe Award, a team photo and will be immortalized on our Facebook page and the Hero Rush website! To be eligible, a team must have four or more members, and each team member must complete all obstacles in order to qualify for the Team Axe Award.
At each Hero Rush event, we will award the team with the most members the Largest Team Award. The largest team will receive a Hero Rush award, a team photo and will be immortalized on our Facebook page and the Hero Rush website!
Prizes:
Based on competitive wave results, prizes will go home with the top
three men and women racers, plus the top three men and top three women
in each age division – 14-20, 21-34, 35-44, and 45+. The top male and
female finishers from the competitive waves get a free race pass for an
upcoming event.
Note, you must be registered for and run in a competitive wave
AND complete all obstacles on the course in order to be eligible for
timing prizes.
We’ll also award a prize to the best – and most heroic – costume!
Plus we’ll add more awards for unique categories – submit your ideas
for a one-of-a-kind Hero Rush prize category here.
Spectators:
Free! No one sits around when an emergency is happening — so why should anyone just watch at Hero Rush? Spectators are free and get full access to the Inferno Midway filled with vendors, festival features and entertainment, access to great viewing areas for multiple obstacles (and spectator interaction with some). Just show up on race day at least an hour before any specific waves you want to watch and go to the designated Spectator sign-up area. All spectators need to sign a waiver.
Post Party:
Cool music all day, food and drinks, awesome firematic merch and lots to see and do – it’s a full Hero Experience!
Other:
We have two kids courses — a short dash for the 4-6 crowd that is completely free — and a mini-obstacle course for 7-13 year-olds that includes a medal and t-shirt for $15. All profits from the Kids Course benefit the local charity.
No pets or children under 14 years old are allowed on the Hero Rush course.
No outside alcohol, food or beverages. Food and beverages will be available for purchase inside the event. No coolers allowed.
Complimentary bag check will be available onsite, and donations to a local charity will be encouraged.
Team:
Team registration is available and encouraged — get your friends, co-workers, gym buds and more to join you in the Rush. Visit our teams FAQ for more information or get started creating your team here. The largest and most creative groups will get special recognition — and maybe a few surprises!
