Course Description:
Shale Hill is famous for it's 10K military inspired obstacles and carry challenges. You will encounter nearly 70 obstacle efforts throughout the entire course. This is approximately 20-25 obstacles/challenges in 2.2 miles. We have teeter totters, tire flips, hurdles, logs, walls, rope climbs, pond traverse, balances, sand bag/log/stone carries, barbwire crawls, monkey bars, tarzan swings, wall traverses, hills, SHALE, dirt and grass trails, etc. 3 person mixed teams each run 1/3 of Shale Hill's 10K Obstacle course.
Aid Stations:
4 water stations throughout the course. On-site EMT/Paramedic on duty during the entire race. Bananas, Thomas Dairy Chocolate Milk and water available at the finish line.
Prizes:
Division winners through 3rd place receive awesome prizes for goods and services from our local sponsors, Icebug Footwear discounts, Shale Hill and Sinergy Sports!!!
Spectators:
Spectators enter for FREE! And yes, you can walk the course, take pictures and root for your favorite Obstacle Racer!
Parking:
Parking is FREE within walking distance the start line. Field parking on grass.

Our sweet little town of Benson is a happening place. The Benson food court includes all these places within a 1/4 mile of Shale Hill:

Other:
Minimum age to race is 14. Youth team members must all be age 14-17, but youth can compete on adult teams. MASTERs team requires all members to be age 50+ young.
FREE gear check at registration.
Hand timed race and hose down wash station available.
Team:
This is a TEAM RELAY RACE. Sign up will be as an individual and the first person to sign up sets up the team name. Other team members then find their team name and join it during registration. 3 person mixed teams required. Don't have team members? Sign up anyway and we'll put you with other people just like you looking for a team!
