Rocket love
Family friendly, challenging yet great for beginners. Fantastic atmosphere, well organised and safe in the support of the marshals. Loved every minute

Since going to my first Rocket Race event (Apollo 2017), I've been a huge fan of the event series and everything the company stands for, a quality, great value experience coupled with innovation and genuine care for ensuring that everyone has a fantastic time and goes home safe. When lockdown hit, Rocket Race turned their attention to the Mission x series which has just concluded it's 3rd section and, yet again, the Rocket Race team smashed the virtual racing bar into the stratosphere! From involving the participants in selecting the missions to including acts of community based charity, right the way through to continually encouraging everyone to interact in, not only a virtual event, but a mutually supportive community at a time when we all need it most. Rocket Race events are truly where the spirit of OCR family comes alive both in the real and virtual worlds and I'm very excited to see what they come up with next!
A great value OCR
My first OCR experience was as a marshall for Discovery. It started off a love affair for all things OCR. I then ran Apollo in April 2018. Rocket Race will always have a place in my heart. A great family race, there is something for everyone.
The support you receive from Team Rocket is second to
None. It really is amazing! Great warm ups, awesome and challenging courses and plenty of muddy hugs. What more could you ask for?
Sons first ocr
Well where to start, I decided to book in for rocket race apollo, with me and my son, as I had only previously helped marshal this race. Being that this is the only local ocr in the South Coast is was super stoked to attempt the family wave. I'm not competitive and rather go at a casual pace.
We get there after an hours drive, to find the event village heaving with people, and loads of team spirit! Perfect!
We get ready to do our first race, and queue up on the starting line, at this point the energy from all other families and runners was amazing! We do our very fun warm up, (im knackered already, but not gonna show that) and off we go. That first hill seemed to go on forever, well played Mr rocket! We tackled every obstacle as best as we could and carry on around the course.
The cheers and support from team rocket and the other marshals was so uplifting that we had to get to that finish line.
We get to that last section and think great this was definitely a huge step, and how amazing the whole course is! All hand made obstacles, beautiful scenery and super friendly people met along the way!
We finally crossed the line, and was greeted with cheers and goodies! And nice warm coffee.
The atmosphere in the event village was still the same and still buzzing even though we were the last wave of the day.
We get changed and find the food place, because obviously we burned a ton of energy, whats better to recoup than a rocket burger and some pop!
The drive home was somewhat quiet from my son who had fallen asleep, but I was still on that runners high. And couldn't wait to get the next one booked in.
Anyway to cut a long story short, rocket race is a brilliant event, well organised, and makes you feel like part of the family. Would recommend it to anybody, and will happily do every event they put on
