Battle the Beach Battle the Beach is a hybrid event combining the endurance of a 5K run, the difficulty of running on the sand and the obstacles of a Mud Run! This event includes 12 obstacles on the beach along a 3.1 mile course in Wildwood, NJ. There will be walls to climb over, tire swings to navigate, a cargo net, tunnels, hurdles, balance beams, sand mounds and water crawls - all while on the beach. Some of the obstacles will include water, but being able to swim will not be a requirement to participate.

You must raise a minimum of $75. You can do two loops of the course in our first heat for $85.

Course Description:

This is a moderate course, made slightly more difficult by the sand. There will be twelve obstacles including spider web, water crawl, inverted walls, mud pits, tunnels, tire swings, dune climbs, balance beams, etc. Water will be involved, but participants will not be required to swim.

Aid Stations:

There will be aid stations and medical personnel on standby. Additionally, fruit and water will be available at the finish line.

Awards:

Awards will be given out to the top male and female finishers, and to the top team and individual fundraisers.

Spectators:

Spectators are welcome to cheer competitors on free of charge.

Parking:

Parking is available on the street or public lots. The best of the beach and the boardwalk will be open during the race.

Other:

Online registration closes August 10, but walk-up registrants are welcome.
Runners must be at least 16 years old to participate, and anyone age 16-17 must have a parent/guardian present at race check-in.
All proceeds benefit the athletes of Special Olympics New Jersey.
Some of the obstacles will include water, but being able to swim will not be a requirement to participate.
Portable shower stations will be available to participants after they race.

Team:

Teams of three or more are welcome. Team that raises the most money will receive an award.
