Course Description:
Race the Tide is an obstacle fell race, taking in some of the finest features in the Lake District: steep climbs, marshland, and watercourses!
Every year the course is different. The ebb and flow of the tide sets out of route for us, creating obstacles, bigger and better than ever. We design the course each year to be more challenging than the one before and to push our boundaries...
Get ready for lake swimming, hill running, water wading, rope bridge traversing, fence climbing and mud sliding. We can guarantee one thing, the tide is always at your heels.
Runners of all levels are challenged to race the tide following a 10k wild and natural route where you will be pushed to your limits to complete obstacles, crawl through mud, wade and swim through rivers and scramble to the top of wooded hillsides. The race will start and finish in the historical grounds of Muncaster Castle and end with celebratory dinner and Ceilidh in the barn!
Spectators:
Day Race spectators are free to enter while weekend supporters will pay a fee for camping.
You will get a map of the main obstacles and be guided to the main viewing stations. If you would like to spectate in the gardens of the castle then a ticket to enter Muncaster Castle Gardens is required and can be purchased at the venue.

Post Party:
There will be a Ceilidh and dinner: What's a Ceilidh? Words do not do a ceilidh justice.
Come find out and be introduced to a new way to celebrate any occasion!
The party and fun will be happening through the weekend with the Sunday night pub quiz.
Other:
There is plenty of space, but we do operate a first come first get basis. As part of the package we provide a water supply, portaloos and outdoor warm camping showers.
Race the Tide is pet friendly and feline campers are strongly encouraged...

Kids Race:
Runners must be over the age of 16. Additionally, runners under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a guardian during the race who must be over the age of 18.
Camping; Children under the age of 16 pay half price on the day and under 5s are free.
