Course Description:
Presented by 87FSS, this open-gate event for both civilian and military runners from across the nation pits their endurance skills against a dirty military-style 10k run through rough terrain and 20 challenging obstacles!
The mud, the dust and the tears accent a grueling day of human endeavor. 2014 Beast of the East Mud run consists of a 10K run with 20 plus obstacles. A 5K loop option is available and contains 10 plus obstacles (Heat 3 and 7 ONLY).
Spectators:
Family members/friends can accompany competitors. In order to access the base all spectators must be added to an Entry Access List (EAL) prior to September 9th. All EAL requests must be sent to beastoftheeastmudrun@gmail.com . The request must include: individual’s full name, driver’s license number, state of driver’s license, and date of birth (DDMMMYY). Spectators 18 years of age and over must bring their valid driver’s license and be on the EAL to enter. Spectators under 18 must be accompanied by another spectator already on an EAL or a DoD ID cardholder.
NOTE: Children under the age of 12 cannot be left unattended on Doughboy Field or on any part of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.
Post Party:
Once the race is completed runners will have Free Fuel Food provided to them. Spectators and runner will have food, snacks and beer available for purchase. Bounce houses and other activities will be available for the young fans.
Other:
Costumes are allowed and encouraged. Remember that this is a family
friendly event that is being run on a Military Installation.
Must be 12 or older to participate. RUNNERS AGES 12-17 OLD MUST RUN WITH SPONSOR
