While my ideal life involves me wearing racing clothes every weekend and HYLETE t-shirts and pants every day during the week that is unfortunately not realistic. I often need to look a little more formal whether it being going out to dinner for work or just looking more presentable. Much to my surprise, I found out earlier this year that HYLETE has a more formal side that includes button down shirts and polo shirts. After loving the HYLETE Modus Long Sleeve Shirt, I decided to pick up the HYLETE Prime Polo Shirt and here is what I thought of it.
Comfort: Made of 90% Polyester, 10% Spandex, the HYLETE Prime Polo is soft and comfortable just like all their other products. It allows you to look good and feel good simultaneously bypassing all those stiff polo shirts you might find in a big department store.
Fit: Just as with the Modus shirt, the Prime Polo delivers the biggest way on its fit. The company was started by athletes with clothing that is made for athletes. This is most evident in the fit, which gets rid of baggy excess fabric providing a more streamlined look. This allows you to show off all the hard work you’ve put in at the gym, the trail or on the Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) venue.
Style, Color and Use: The Prime Polo comes in two different color options black or grey. This simple design means your co-workers and family won’t even realize you are wearing an athletic brand until you tell them about it or if they happen to touch the fabric. The lack of logos makes it a great option for co-branding. This is a great option if you are working at a gym and looking to give your trainers a more professional look or just want comfortable employees in any environment.
This is another HYLETE product that is designed for day to day wear but has all the performance benefits of high quality athletic race clothing. I personally don’t golf (unless you count me reenacting the scene from the Charlie Sheen movie Navy SEALs), but this would be perfect for golfing or any other activity where you want to look good but perform at your peak.
Price: The Prime Polo comes in at $78 for each one. However, like I’ve said before with HYLETE, you get what you pay for. If you want top level performance and comfort with an athletic fit you are going to have to pay for it. I own another polo from a well-known outdoor brand that charges $70. The HYLETE is heads and shoulders better quality along with comfort.
Overall: I’m really excited to learn that HYLETE has nicer clothes and love the HYLETE Prime Polo Shirt. I love supporting fitness brands and especially ones that support Obstacle Course Racing (OCR). With the quality they deliver, the options they provide and the fit of each of their products it makes choosing them a no brainer. I’m looking forward to 2021’s OCR World Championships dinner and the 2021 World’s Toughest Mudder Brunch so I can show off some of my newest athletic/dress apparel next year.
