This week on the Mud Run Guide Community Members of the Week we showcase two athletes celebrating achievements at the finish line. Sometimes it is fun to show off that bling at the finish. But not all bling is in the form of a medal as we learn this week. Bonnie Wilson our social media guru has pulled two finish line photos that celebrate both sport and life.
The first photo is from Victor Quezada (@vic_darkhorse10) who writes after finishing a recent Tougher Mudder: “I'm probably the only one to cross the finish line with a baby. Of course, he didn't race with me but he started to cry when I held him because my hands are cold. Couldn't ask for better support from both of you guys? Also thank you @cothrift for the baby shirt. Future OCR athlete he will be?”
Who doesn't love a cute baby photo at the finish line of a race!
The second community member this week highlighted is Chrissi Shew (@chrissi_shew) who recently earned her Savage Race Syndicate Medal in Maryland.
“What an amazing weekend! First @savagerace of the year and completed every obstacle on my first try in the pro-wave! I was battling the stomach flu and had barely eaten so my speed and endurance suffered, but I still managed to keep my band and take 13th place. 42 women started and only 14 kept their pro-bands. Felt great to be back in the game again! My team @thecrewocr pulled out a third-place finish as well. Sunday went for a fun lap at the first ever Savage Blitz short course and racing on both days earned me the Savage Syndicate medal ? I'm looking forward to the upcoming Savage Races and upping my speed and competition ?”
A huge congrats to Chrissi on the achievement this week. We also had two contributors at Savage Race this past weekend. Find their race recaps on the Savage Race Organizer Page.
