After months of anticipation the new NBC competition reality series, Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge airs Monday night at 10/9 central after American Ninja Warrior. The team based show is built off the Spartan Race Series and will feature some of your favorite obstacle course racing athletes in the sport today. Each week six teams will face off against each other testing themselves both physically and mentally on some never before seen obstacles as well as Spartan Race favorites.
Each week six teams will face off against each other testing themselves both physically and mentally on some never before seen obstacles as well as Spartan Race favorites. A total of thirty-six teams will face off consisting of two men, two women, and one elite racer to anchor the team.
Some of the most notable obstacle racer in the sport today will anchor their teams and guide them through the obstacles in hopes of taking home the $250,000 prize purse at the end. OCR superstars and personalities such as Amelia Boone, Robert Killian Jr., Rose Wetzel, Hunter McIntyre, Isaiah Vidal, Alexander Nicolas, Matt “Bear” Novakovich, Brakken Kraker, Orla Walsh, Ben Greenfield, April Dee, and Kevin Donoghue. Mud Run Guide's own Crew Chief, Matt Willis, will also be anchoring a team on the new series.
Other notable names are Laura Messner, Beni Gifford, Anna “MomStrong” Arsenault, Amy Palmiero Winters, Maggi Thorne, Monica Jo, Shaun Ingram, Freya Dittrich, Bridget McIntosh Praytor, Kathyrn Gagner, Ryan Shah, Andrew Jones, and many more will be competing on teams in the hopes of grabbing that prize purse.
Spartan Race and the producers of American Ninja Warrior set up a course unlike any ever before seen in the sport of obstacle course racing in a truly unique team format.
Spartan Race Pro-Team Member and alternate team captain for the show Jackie Rust was on hand during the filming and watched all the action live told Mud Run Guide,
“I can't wait to see how they edited the show. If they can capture the emotion from the course, this will be the greatest show since the first season of Survivor!”
