Day 4
Miles today: 36.25
Miles Run so far: 192.85
Miles to go: 2837.15
Adam's body continues to adjust to the mileage as he crosses an ever-changing landscape. Today's route was mostly along narrow roads and sandy access roads following I-10. We ran south of Joshua Tree National Park and are feeling blessed to experience the beauty of this part of the country. We knew before sunrise that we were going to have to fight for day 4. Adam's Achilles was hurting and his feet were beginning to burn from all miles. We convinced him to use trekking poles for a bit, massaged his feet at every pit stop, and kept him moving east. By the end of the day, he was able to jog again! We finished early to allow for rest and recovery, which we believe is crucial this early in the game. Resting up for a full day tomorrow!
