OCR To Make “Center Stage” Debut at The Running Event in Austin, TX
The Running Event Trade Show Returns to Austin Convention Center, Dec. 2 to 4
Over 300-plus running and obstacle course racing industry manufacturers will soon travel to Austin to exhibit the latest in footwear, gear, apparel and accessories to an estimated 800-plus specialty store buyers. In all, approximately 2,800-plus industry professionals will attend the 10-year-old The Running Event (TRE), the largest running specialty trade show in North America, at the Austin Convention Center, Dec. 2 to 4, 2015. The show, which serves the $1.2 billion running specialty industry, is closed to the public, but Austin media is invited for a preview of what's new for 2015-16.
New this year is the Experiential Zone in the ACC's Hall 5. Experience obstacle racing from Spartan Race; ElliptiGO elliptical cycling which combines the best of running, cycling and the elliptical trainer; inov-8 strength training for runners; and TRX suspension training, anytime Wed. afternoon through Friday mid-day, Dec. 2 to 4. A media demo is planned Thurs., Dec. 3., starting at 6 a.m. (advance notice required).
Exhibitors include adidas, ASICS, Brooks, Hoka One One, Mizuno, New Balance, Nike and Saucony. TRE will showcase reflective hats and lights runners can wear to keep safe. Lightweight breathable jackets and shirts to keep warm and dry, and socks and insoles to keep comfortable and injury free. TRE also features nutritional products that give runners the fuel they need to run a 5K or a marathon.
There are 51 million running/jogging participants in the U.S. each year, split almost evenly between male and female.

The Running Event is one of the top 10 fastest growing trade shows in the country according to a 2013 analysis by Trade Show Executive magazine. It was the third consecutive year (2011, 2012, 2013) TRE made the list, the “Oscars” of the trade show industry.
Formula4 Media, based in Great Neck, N.Y., was established in 2005 and produces one other trade show, The Running & Fitness Event For Women, which will be held again in Chicago in summer 2016.
